Gulftainer’s Khorfakkan Terminal sets record unloading
Gulftainer, the Sharjah-headquartered port operator, has said that it has set a new record for the largest complete unloading of a single cargo vessel at its Khorfakkan Container Terminal (KCT). To break the record, the Khorfakkan Terminal has handled 19,561 twenty foot equivalent units from a single vessel. The terminal located along the Indian Ocean in Sharjah, handled 19,561 twenty foot equivalent units (TEUs), a shipping container measurement, from the vessel, according to an emailed statement from the company. The unloading of the CMA CGM Jules Verne container ship was completed in 54.5 hours with the use of 11 cranes.
